Mid Lane Tier List For LoL Patch 14.8: These Are The Best Mid Laners

These are our top three picks in the mid lane in patch 14.8:

3. Diana

The Scorn Of The Moon

Don't worry, you did not accidentally click on the jungle tier list, although Diana is also a pretty neat pick in the jungle right now as well!

The key difference between jungle and mid lane Diana is her item build. If you plan on playing Diana on lane, you should always start with Lich Bane as your first item, since it provides a ton of burst damage with its “Spellblade” effect and some pretty useful stats in general as well. This is especially important for mid lane Diana, since she wants dominant the lane with her super high kill pressure as soon as she reaches level 6!

To maximize your one-shot potential, you should choose Shadowflame as your second item option and if you struggle with dying too fast, you may want to consider an early Zhonyah's Hourglass instead.

If you are looking for a rather simple but very effective AP assassin, who also works great as a flex pick, Diana could be the pick for you in patch 14.8!

2. Aurelion Sol

Aurelion Sol has been a pretty awesome pick over the course of the last few patches. His main strength certainly lies within his consistency and incredible scaling. The longer the game, the higher is Aurelion's win rate climbing! After reaching his full potential, there is basically nothing that could stop a good Aurelion Sol player from completing taking over the game, no matter how far behind your team may be!

Item wise, Aurelion does not really have much variety in his build, with Rylai's Crystal Scepter being his first item to rush in basically every match-up. Next to that, Liandry's Torment is also still a core item for Aurelion.

Aurelion's lane mainly consists of gathering as much farm as he can, in order to reach his power spikes and Ultimate stacks as fast as possible. With his W – Astral Flight, he is also quite string at roaming or helping out his jungler in early fights around the grubs!

1. Ahri

The Nine-Tailed Fox

Our favorite nine-tailed fox is currently ripping apart the Summoner's Rift. Ahri herself didn’t receive any direct buffs in 14.8 which makes sense, since the things that make her so strong right now, are her item options, with Malignance being one of her bests.

Overall, Ahri is a pretty neat pick in the mid lane, as she can provide either lots of burst damage with a Luden's Companion build, or a good amount of damage and utility when you build Malignance on her! Since Malignance is the by far better item as of right now, I would always recommend the second option!

Gameplay wise, Ahri is quite easy to understand, and you can play her either aggressive or laid back, depending on who your lane opponent is. In busy team fights, however, that is where Ahri's kit starts to shine! She is incredibly good at catching squishy targets off guard, taking them down in the blink of an eye.

Personally speaking, Ahri is one of my favorite picks ever since I started playing league, and she will continue to serve me quite well on the summoner's rift in patch 14.8!

Who Are Our A-Tier Mid Laners?

The A-Tier is still considered excellent. These are champions that you can easily pick and still win games. They're the ones you'll want to choose when the S-Tier are banned. So if you want to climb solo queue, then these are some picks you'll want to pick up this patch.

The higher elo you are, the stronger Hwei gets. He is still a pretty special pick to learn, however, if you understand how to use all the perks his giant kit has, you will certainly create some frustration in your lane opponents. Personally speaking, Hwei is also incredibly fun to play, and his abilities feel just so smooth! If you want to try something new, give Hwei a chance and on top of that, he also received buffs to his passive in patch 14.8!

Who Are Our B-Tier Mid Laners?

The B-Tier consists of champions that are good, but won't have as much strength as either the A or S Tier — obviously. These are picks you can pick in specific match ups, but we suggest making sure you master the champion before picking them.

As already mentioned, Le Blanc got quite some nice buffs in patch 14.8, which could bring her back into the mid lane meta at least a little! However, learning Le Blanc is not as easy as it looks like and if you do not already know how her kit works, we would recommend picking up easier champions instead.

Who Are Our F-Tier Mid Laners?

These are the picks we advise you to forget about this patch. Either their win rates are abysmal or they were nerfed in the patch. So make sure to avoid picking these champions at all costs… unless you really don't care for your LP and just want to play the one champion you main.

Don't pick any of these champs if you want to keep your precious and hard-earned LP.
