Imagine with me the following scenario:
Imagine that you are in a house with family members and loved ones.Outside is the threat of an enemy in the form of an army getting closer to your home, hell-bent on destroying all of you. They are getting closer and closer. You are hearing reports of the devastation happening outside, obliterating everything and everyone around you that you held dear.
It goes without saying that you are all not just a little bit frightened.You are terrified. You start to talk frantically with each other, discussing ways to avert the impending lethal chaos that could full-on ensue at any moment. How can you all avert the danger?Is there a way?
Somebody in your group then mentions that they know there is a very capable army poised to step in and to help at any moment.There is one condition, though.You must collectively all agree to accept their assistance.
Saving lives:good. Allowing you all to perish at the hands of the enemy: bad.Not rocket science.
Then imagine that a couple of people you are huddled with, as you are all contemplating the likelihood of your collective demise if you do not together agree to receive the help; imagine at that very moment that they say, “Sorry, we don’t like this. We’re not going to agree to accepting help.”
OMG.
The MAGA Republicans are very much the people in your imagined group saying that.It kicks off arguments; it kicks in a kind of group trauma.
As “we-the-people” bear witness to the most unbelievable dereliction of duty ever, committed by representatives who swore an oath to protect the United States Of America; a Republican party gone rogue;many of us, at least those who are paying attention are growing increasingly agitated.They are touting and taunting disaster.
Many Americans are very, very shocked and very angry that the common sense measure of saying “yes” to helping democracy survive is what the Republican Party has been shockingly shouting an emphatically loud“NO” to.
Let’s be clear.For more than 215 years, America has led the world in having a working democracy.We have stood proudly representing a governance where citizens have the power to be involved in, and to RUN our own government.We have been the #1 leading example of a country where the people can live free.
Our enemies hate that.
Our enemy countries consider, as they always have, that the United States Of America is THE crown jewel to acquire.They continually drool at the prospect of taking America down.No, really.Continually.
Our enemies invest hours, days, round-the-clock planning and participation in strategies that they believe will be most effective in obliterating us. What does the Republican party do?
How about this one.
Yesterday Marjorie Taylor Greene unapologetically started throwing around the Russian propaganda talking (i.e. lying) point that Ukraine is overrun with “Nazis”, saying that we cannot under any circ*mstances send aid to Ukraine.She says that Russia needs to save Ukraine by fighting off said “Nazis”.Yes, this, straight from Putin’s mouth. Margeeven held up pictures of a mock “Nazi army” and claimed that these fictitious characters were taking over Ukraine.It was both laughable, and deadly serious.
The Democrats were NOT pleased.
Marge has been leading the charge.Marge has been working in lockstep with authoritarian leaders like Viktor Orban.MTG has vehemently opposed any aid to Ukraine that would help save them from an unprovoked-by-them war; aid that can safeguard democracy and aid that will definitely, without a doubt, 100%,would bolster United States national security.Over and over again, Marjorie Taylor Greene and others are continuing to parrot straight-up, unfettered, immeasurably damaging Russian propaganda to the American people.
Anyone with a working brain cell who lives on planet earth knows full well that Vladimir Putin has been leading the literal battle to destroy democracies across the entire world for a very long time now.
With the advent and assistance of the likes of “intelligence-challenged” puppets like MTG, the entire Kremlin has been rubbing their hands with glee.This is just too easy! They have been able to count on the “Putin Republican party” to continue tote the line for fascism.What a bonus! They hit the jackpot!This may have turned out better for the Kremlin than they ever dreamed it could!Thank goodness for the gullible and dumb Americans!
Republicans and right-wing extremist American media have been mimicking Russian State TV.If you dare to look, you will see. It is beginning to look and sound the same.
The Kremlin has succeeded, especially for the past six months, in getting Republicans to delay and refuse the passing of bills that would send military aid; aid that would potentially put the cap on Russia’s ability to completely obliterate Ukraine.
And the very next stop for Putin?Democratic nations throughout all of Europe.
Our NATO allies are holding their breath that this chaos in America; this party that is working for Putin, representing not democracy, but the antithesis of democracy; they are hoping, and likely probablyprayingthat the chaos will stop.Our allies are very much on edge, as they witness the rogue Republicans in action, holding the potential to completely wipe out America as the superpower for democracy.
Our allies are right now in fact engaged in making contingency plans that do not include the United States of America in them.This is very, very sad, to say the least.This holds the potential for an impending and grave tragedy.
Good thing Joe Biden is president, for we are, for sure, teetering.If it were the former guy in charge, it would most likely be all over for all of us by now.
We have recently been getting increasing and verifiable reports that in this 2024 election year our enemies are “all in” on putting the cap on democracy, once and for all.That is their plan. That is identical to Trump’s “Project 2025” plan.Infect the minds of Americans with fascist gaslighting.After all, it worked in 2016.Why not 2024?The enemies are that much more experienced now.
In the next few months get used to hearing these words:Russian propaganda.
In 3 simple steps:
DIVIDE AND CONQUER.Destroy democracy.Insert fascism.
This is the truth. Russia and the rest of the “axis of evil” never stop plotting and planning and attacking.
Yet, this ALSO is the truth.WE, together, have the power to STOP THEM.
This morning I heard the news that former criminal and corrupt AG Bill Barr (Russian agent, if you ask ME), is putting his weight behind fascist Donald Trump. Barr is the one who bold-faced lied to the American people and hid the Mueller Report from us: a moment that lives large in our collective consciousness.And, like the “thing-that-wouldn’t-go-away”, Trump continues to toe the line for Putin.
It’s time to turn this ship around.Don’tcha think?
